Inside Chemin du Roi

Owned by award-winning musician, entrepreneur, actor and producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Le Chemin du Roi takes great pride in delivering a flawless taste of victory and the symbol of the King in every bottle. Worthy of the King Every step that goes into the creation of Le Chemin du Roi (the King’s Path) is focused on delivering a Champagne worthy of the King. From sourcing the best vineyards in Champagne, using only classic winemaking techniques, and a bottle unlike no other, Le Chemin du Roi represents one of the most prominent and preeminent Champagnes today. The Focus on Quality The focus on quality extends to every part of Le Chemin du Roi. Designed personally by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, each emblematic King Chess Piece that adorns every bottle is affixed by hand and then each bottle is hand packed for a look and feel never seen in Champagne.

Produced from top Microclimates

The majority of the grapes used for Le Chemin du Roi are from the famed Montagne de Reims and Cote de Blancs regions of Champagne. Focusing on these two regions delivers more elegance and finesse and a strong backbone to all the wines.

Elevated selection standards

Over 900 hectares throughout 155 communes in Champagne are sourced and hand-picked, allowing for only the best of the best clusters of grapes to be used, ensuring year over year consistency in taste, and unrivaled quality.

Only the best

Immediately after harvesting, the grapes are hand sorted and then pressed in press houses, located throughout the vineyards. This is done to get the freshest juice and to not damage the grapes by transporting them any distance to get the purest expression of the terroir. Once pressed, only first press juice is used and brought to the winery.

House Style

Once primary fermentation is done, Le Chemin du Roi is blended by the Castelnau Team to create the unique House Style of Chemin du Roi; Elegance from a high percentage of Chardonnay and depth and richness from a high percentage of Pinot Meunier.

Exceeding Aging Requirements

Both Castelnau and Le Chemin du Roi take great pride in allowing all the Champagne to age longer than required in order to add more complexity to the finished product. While it adds much more time to the process, we firmly believe that this is essential to producing the best Champagne: our minimum aging is 48 months on the lees, compared to the required amount of 15 months.

The wines

Our Brut is made with grapes from only the finest vineyards in Champagne, France that have matured to peak ripeness. After pressing, the wine is aged over 4 years on the lees to create a balance of bright and crisp acidity with notes of ripe stone fruits.

Le Chemin du Roi Rosé is made from grapes grown in some of the finest vineyards in Champagne. Aged for over 4 years on its lees to create a crisp and smooth Champagne, notes of strawberries and black currants shine on the palate. The small and delicate bubbles create an elegant mouthfeel that has a crisp finish that maintains its structure and balance.

Blanc de Blancs

The “Collection Privée” or Private Collection represents the most exclusive and Cuvées from Le Chemin du Roi. This Cuvée, our Blanc de Blancs from the much heralded 2000 vintage is the paramount assertion of a Champagne made for a King.
Made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from top growers in the Montagne de Reims and Côte de Blancs appellations of Champagne, the wine spent over 10 years aging on lees before disgorgement, resulting in a strong, yet elegant and complex, yet flawless Cuvée with notes of toasted brioché, Meyer lemons, creamy pineapple, and balanced minerality
