The Region
The majority of the grapes used for Le Chemin du Roi are from the famed Montagne de Reims and Cote de Blancs regions of Champagne. Focusing on these two regions delivers more elegance and finesse and a strong backbone to all the wines.
sourcing
Over 900 hectares throughout 155 communes in Champagne are sourced and hand-picked, allowing for only the best of the best clusters of grapes to be used, ensuring year over year consistency in taste, and unrivaled quality.
“A triumph in every glass. this champagne epitomizes sophistication and dedication to the highest level of wine making”

Our Process
Immediately after harvesting, the grapes are hand sorted and then pressed in press houses, located throughout the vineyards. This is done to get the freshest juice and to not damage the grapes by transporting them any distance to get the purest expression of the terroir. Once pressed, only first press juice is used and brought to the winery.
house of style
Once primary fermentation is done, Le Chemin du Roi is blended by the Castelnau Team to create the unique House Style of Chemin du Roi; Elegance from a high percentage of Chardonnay and depth and richness from a high percentage of Pinot Meunier.
Aging
Exceeding Aging
Requirements
Adding complexity
Both Castelnau and Le Chemin du Roi take great pride in allowing all the Champagne to age longer than required in order to add more complexity to the finished product.
quality over quantity
While it adds much more time to the process, we firmly believe that this is essential to producing the best Champagne: our minimum aging is 48 months on the lees, compared to the required amount of 15 months.
THE NEW VINTNER
